Can someone please help identify this item I found buried 30cm down in wet sand on a beach . it has a screw thread in the raised pice on the back .!!

Some slim pickings from a recent day out included a mystery item!
Small, heavy, stylised wolf’s head, cast in copper with traces of silver coating.
Threaded inside base.
Open to suggestions!

Certainly looks right for the head off a cane / swagger stick . The ones i have found in the past have all been without the thread ? So maybe a decorative item off something . Best bet is still a cane top i think .
