Hey all I’m new to the game, I have the basic stuff sluice, pan, dolly pot for the bigger rocks, and a cheap detector from temu (have a small budget). I live in north west in Roger river. Any tips u can give me would be great thanks ---

Hi Andrew Welcome to the PMAT forum I would suggest you download the trilobite app on your phone It will be a big help finding gold deposits in Tasmania Go where the old timers have been Shortly we will be advertising a field trip on the forum and you are welcome to attend and sign up as a member We have 4 trips a year prospecting for gems and gold We have a great group of like minded people from all walks of life and it’s a great way to learn from other people and make some great friends Keep an eye out on here in the next few weeks for our next outing Good luck ---

Hi mate, My best advice is to use the pans and sluice to find areas with gold and the temu detector for coins and relics only, as it won’t be much good for gold detecting. Most of all, just enjoy being out in the bush, creeks and beaches and if you find anything that’s a bonus.
