Hi everyone,
This year’s summer exhibition at TMAG (Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery in Hobart) just opened, about the West Coast.
It has in it plaster casts of McGinty’s nugget (243 oz) and Watson & Morgan’s nugger (144 oz), featured in Ralph Bottrill’s book ‘Alluvial Gold in Tasmania’.
A bit about the exhibition on ABC NEws:
An article in The Examiner in the 1920s talking about the nuggets and the difficulty getting plaster casts made:
TMAG’s page on the exhibition:
The exhibition will be on 'till May, and (in the benefit of disclosure) yours truly had a bit of curatorial input into the geology and life science sections.
