found my first silver coin this weekend in hobart think its a young head victoria threepence any idea how to clean it

Nice one! Couple of ways to clean it up. Soak in lemon juice for a couple of days then rub with bicarb soda and water paste. Or spit on it then wrap it up tight in alfoil for 10 or 20 minutes. Or set up an electrolysis tank. None will bring back detail that has corroded away but they will all make it less crusty to varying degrees.

the foil and spit really works sadly with no contrast must of the detail went too but at least i know it was an silver 1800s coin which was on the bucket list
