The track over the hill is now cut with a ditch and a berm on the downhill side. The gate on the main road is locked.
There appears to be workings in progress on the southern end. Big digger there .
We are told it’s now a mining lease.
MRT maps doesn’t show any changes to Kingfishers pending renewal.

Can you still get to the area with the ponds where most people stop?
The track over the hill has a ditch followed by a berm so it’s no longer accessible. Gate to Mangana road is locked.
A real shame!
Presumably it’s been done by whoever it is with the exploration or mining lease.

Thanks for the clarification, that is a shame I was hoping to go out there soon. Might be the land owner has gated it as the LIST shows most of that area as Private land

I can confirm there is no mining going on up there, I went there the other day and the only work that has been done is to put some windrows on the track in.
By who I don’t know.
It wasn’t by Kingfisher who has the exploration lease over the area and there are no mining leases across Majors Gully.
It was likely the land owner as the road in across the hill and across the paddock looks like it has had a fair bit of use.
