Was scouting through some Lidar imagery and came across this - the horseshoe shape just doesn’t look naturally made to me - it is on the bank of a river - could it be something that the Oldtimers might have dug? It is about 50 metres in diameter.

Hi @NorthWestGold, I’d say that’s a former river channel. It looks like the river originally meandered along that loop, and at some point in the past, a flood (or prospectors) have cut through the meander and water followed along the path of least resistance.

Cheers Miguel, that is probably the most likely possibility. Will check it out on the ground when I get a chance.
Looks natural to me.
Is there any records of mining in the area?
